Photo shoot: Yvette

with No Comments

Last Thursday I was able to meet with my friend Yvette who I hadn’t seen in a while. We meant to do a shoot together for quite a while but it never really happened until now.

She also started out doing photography recently, so we also took the opportunity to go to ‘s Graveland which is near where she lives. The light snowfall of the preceding days provided some nice pictures.

When we got back we did a little photo shoot where I experimented with the high-key images, as well as a somewhat darker lighting set up.

Living room photo shoot

For all these photos I used the same 35mm F1.8 lens on my crop sensor body. The light set up was mostly a speed light that I bounced off the ceiling, and a phone’s flashlight to serve as a very subtle fill in. The results turned out so nice that I hardly did any light adjustment in Lightroom.

High key photographs

These photos are a revisit of one of the first exercises we did during the portrait photography course. I wanted to do them in black and white and see what I could come up with. The result is very much in line with what I wanted to achieve. And the funny thing is that the lighting setup was almost the same as with the darker photos above.

I started this website because I felt the sights I've seen deserve a little more attention than what they receive on other picture sharing websites. I wanted to create my own little corner on the web to show them, as well as other things, to the public.
